What are crown moldings?

What is plaster?
A mixture of lime or gypsum, sand, and water, with fiber added, it hardens to a smooth solid and is used for coating walls and ceilings. A sculptured mold or cast in plaster of Paris.

Plaster is the type of material used thousands of years till now, still only plaster moldings gives the distinctive look that no other can give. Plaster will not rot, shrink, or discolor.

Will plaster ruin my ceilings or walls?
Plaster is often used to patch up holes and scratches on walls and ceilings. So they will not ruin or damage, they are the ideal material used for endless possibilities.

What advantages does plaster have on MDF, wood and polyurethane?
MDF is recycled wood “saw dust” compressed. Wood doesn’t have the unique decorative design to it, unless it’s stamped which can be costly. Polyurethane is foam base, which feels like plastic. With plaster, because plaster has the decorative touch and designs that brings the beauty in a home. Also plaster has some unique characteristic; it does not shrink burn and absorb moisture.

Why is plaster not as popular?
Plaster is not as popular these days because wood, MDF and polyurethane was introduced into the market not too long ago with affordable prices. People have picked up the trend with those products because they have not seen plaster products in homes. They don’t know where to obtain them, and if they do they are not cheap. Plaster is the ideal material for decorative design moldings, because that’s what they used thousands of years ago in roman time until today. You will only notice plaster moldings in Victorian homes, custom homes and high end hotels.

Can I avoid using screw or nails to install them?
Yes, there are other solutions of installing besides using screw or nail. Another way of installing them is plaster compound or nail glue. Apply a reasonable amount on top of the molding and on bottom. After attaching it to the wall and ceiling wipe off access plaster or glue.

Which is the best way to cut plaster products?
There is only one way of cutting plaster, and that is using a saw, but there are two ways of cutting it with a saw. The fastest and easy way is using a miter saw which cuts it clean and fast. Another method is using a hand saw if a miter saw is not available.

When can I expect my order?
